These days, I spend most of my nights alone. Anson is smack dab in the middle of his surgery rotation, which means he spends his 17-hour days up to his elbows in blood and guts and gore (oh my!). This also means that when he does get to come home at night, he’s not much fun. So, he sleeps. And I watch CNN. And so it goes.
But, tonight it’s Friday, which means I’m shaking my oh-so exciting life up a bit. Instead of staring blankly at yet another awkward Sarah Palin interview, I’m looking toward the future—the most wonderful time of the year, to be exact.
Oh Christmas, how I love you so. With your twinkling lights and mistletoe, everything about you makes me smile. And this year, I intend to have a merry little Christmas, complete with a new tradition: The 12 Days of Christmas Movies.
The Family Stone will start it off on the 13th because, let’s face it, SJP is painfully uncomfortable to watch (but I do so love Rachel McAdams, Luke Wilson, Clare Danes and Diane Keaton) and, of course, Love Actually will wrap up the marathon on Christmas Eve. Everything in between will be filled with Bing Crosby, Jimmy Stewart and warm holiday goodness.
Here’s the rundown:
1. Love Actually
2. It’s a Wonderful Life
3. White Christmas
4. Home Alone
5. A Charlie Brown Christmas
6. How the Grinch Stole Christmas
7. National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation
8. Elf
9. The Shop Around the Corner
10. A Christmas Story
11. Holiday Inn
12. The Family Stone
Now I just have to think of something to keep me occupied for the next 3 months. Riiiiiggghhhttt…
